CQC success for Bury

The drug and alcohol service, One Recovery Bury has received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who independently monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of care and quality.

The inspection of Addiction Dependency Solutions’ (ADS) service, One Recovery Bury took place in November and though the CQC do not rate standalone substance misuse services, One Recovery Bury was acknowledged as “Good” in all areas.

The report says, “Throughout this inspection, we saw brief interactions between staff and clients which were respectful and friendly.”

On an area of outstanding practice, the report also stated, “We saw innovative multidisciplinary working, with a regular hepatology clinic held on site. A consultant and nurse from the local acute hospital saw clients to discuss treatment for hepatitis and treatment could be started and monitored within the service. A bereavement support group had been developed by a local healthcare organisation as part of a multi-agency response and now runs monthly following feedback from service users and carers about their difficulty when accessing mainstream bereavement services.”

Lady Rhona Bradley CEO of ADS said, “I am incredibly proud of our One Recovery Bury service. This excellent result was richly deserved and reflects the high standard of commitment and hard work given by the team. I’d like to thank each and every staff member for helping us not only to achieve such a positive CQC report but more importantly, providing such good services for our clients and the communities we serve, with our partners, in Bury.”
