Modern Slavery Statement
Addiction Dependency Solutions has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We strive to act ethically and with integrity in all of our activities and relationships to make sure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in Addiction Dependency Solutions or in any of our supply chains. We will also make sure our approach is clear with our partner organisations.
We believe that a modern slavery statement is an important part of our approach to implementing our ethical policy. We have opted to adopt a statement which we will update and publish annually on our website, although we are not required to have such a statement under current regulations.
Organisation structure and supply chain
Addiction Dependency Solutions is a charity registered with the charity commission (Charity Number 702559). We work with individuals who are affected by alcohol and drug addiction whether they are using alcohol and drugs themselves or are a family member/loved one of a person who is using alcohol or drugs. We provide one-to-one and group support using digital and online services as well as meeting face to face.
We are governed by our articles of association and a board of trustees who volunteer their time to help direct our work. They oversee our chief executive and directors who manage our day-to-day operations.
Addiction Dependency Solutions uses a number of suppliers to enable it to carry out its activities which include:
• IT and support contracts
• marketing and promotional organisations
• Organisations providng training and development.
Addiction Dependency Solutions carries out employment checks, including making sure that our people have the right to work for us and we pay at least the Living Wage. We also vet all our volunteers with enhanced DBS checks and references.
Strategy for addressing the risk of modern slavery
Addiction Dependency Solutions considers the risk of modern slavery to be related to our supply chain and therefore we will only utilise companies with a record of good conduct and who utilise providers and suppliers with anti-modern slavery procedures, We will:• Speak to providers to ask them for their anti-modern slavery procedures
• Where they don’t have a procedure seek reassurance that they are not encouraging/involved with or supporting suppliers with links to modern slavery.
Continuous improvement
The next steps in our work are:
• Continue to utilise the support of a small number of trusted suppliers
• Require any new suppliers to provide an anti-modern slavery policy or provide reassurance they do not utilise suppliers involved with modern slavery.
• Keep existing suppliers under review in respect of modern slavery.
• to make sure modern slavery is addressed in all key relevant policies including recruitment, safeguarding and whistleblowing as they are reviewed and updated.
