Naloxone Saving Lives in Bury

For the past few months Naloxone – a specialist drug that can reverse the effects of an overdose once administered http://www.naloxonesaveslives.co.uk/what-is-naloxone.asp – has been available to residents of Bury.  Since Naloxone’s availability in Bury, three people have benefited from its use, literally saving lives.

The bank holiday period can be a difficult time for those who use our services, with reduced openings and the added complications that the festivities can bring – at times like this, the availability of Naloxone could make a difference.

Naloxone is available in Bury to anyone using opiates, including prescribed medication, whether they are in treatment or not, and is additionally available to family members and/or concerned others.  If you feel Naloxone could make a difference this Christmas, please get in touch.

One Recovery staff, volunteers and peer mentors have been trained in the administration of Naloxone and can provide further information and advice – you can contact One Recovery Bury via phone 0161 253 6488 email [email protected] or by visiting our website www.onerecovery.org.uk/bury
