Addiction Dependency Solutions launch One Recovery Bury
The new integrated drug and alcohol recovery service for Bury
On Friday the 9th May Bury councillors, local service providers and other interested parties gathered at the Elizabethan Rooms at Bury Town Hall for the launch of One Recovery Bury.
One Recovery Bury is the new innovative recovery service which places an emphasis on improving individual’s wellbeing across a range of outcomes, including; employment, accommodation, criminal justice and mental health. One Recovery Bury is an abstinence based service and will boost life aspiration, community cohesion and promote a safer and healthier Bury for all.
The launch was the perfect opportunity to showcase the fantastic work that One Recovery Bury achieves in helping people turn their lives around. One Recovery Bury is delivered in partnership between Addiction Dependency Solutions (ADS), Harvey House Social Enterprise, Sodexo Justice Services and Bury Employment Support and Training (BEST).
The day started with an introduction to the service by ADS Chief Executive, Lady Rhona Bradley. Rhona described ADS’ history and expertise in delivering high quality alcohol and drug treatment and how the charity was hugely excited about putting these expertise into practice with the launch of One Recovery Bury. Dr Kaushal, Lead Clinician for One Recovery Bury, followed with a presentation outlining Harvey House Social Enterprise’s work and how they were looking forward to being part of a partnership initiative in Bury. Trevor Shortt, Director of Forrest Bank Prison, run by Sodexo Justice Services, introduced the important work Sodexo does to ensure offenders do not re-offend and how they work with One Recovery Bury so that offenders can recover from alcohol and drug addiction and become re-assimilated into the communities of Bury. It was left to ADS Director of Service Delivery, Bill Paterson, to conclude the presentations with an overview of the new service and the innovative work that One Recovery Bury will achieve over the next few years.
After the presentations there were opportunities for networking and gaining further insight into the service and how it interacts with other services in Bury via organisational stalls and stands.
The day was a great success with everyone excited about the prospect of the innovative work that One Recovery Bury is going to achieve.
ADS Chief Executive Lady Rhona Bradley summing up the event, said, “The day outlined the pioneering partnership that has come together in challenging times to provide a cost effective integrated drug and alcohol treatment service for the people of Bury”.
ADS Service Delivery Director Bill Paterson added, “This is a really exciting service and the first integrated drug and alcohol addiction service ADS has delivered. I’m really looking forward to delivering the service for the people of Bury and helping clients achieve recovery”.
